Thursday 22 July 2010 DUDLEY Heathens Speedway boss Will Pottinger is urging fans to pack the terraces again next Tuesday as their dramatic play-off surge gathers momentum.
Heathens, carrying the famous name of the old Cradley Heath club, pulled in another bumper crowd to see their 60-33 win over the Isle of Wight at Birmingham on Wednesday.
And Pottinger says he and his riders are counting the days to the next National League date with Scunthorpe Scorpions at Wolverhampton's Monmore Green track on Tuesday, July 27 (7.30).
He said: "I'm very happy with the result against the Islanders.
"All our lads were excellent and after two rides each, five of them were on maximums so I can't ask for anymore from them. It was nice to give Micky (Dyer) the opportunity of heat 15 and give him the experience.
"James Sarjeant was very good and we thank him for accepting to ride for the Heathens again.
"It's nice to look at the league table and see us joint 2nd with Rye House. We can't wait to take on Scunthorpe next Tuesday now and I'm hoping all Heathens fans will once again come and show what it means to have a team back on track after 14 years. They have been brilliant this season and thanks also to the Birmingham fans who came and watched our meeting on Wednesday." | | | | | |
