Monday 19 July 2010 HEATHENS youngster Richard Franklin has been released from a Norfolk hospital after he crashed out of Dudley's amazing win at King's Lynn last night.
Franklin, from Coventry, has a throat injury after he hit his windpipe and is struggling to talk properly at this stage.
He's also having difficulty swallowing solid food and is likely to be out of action for the next fortnight.
Heathens boss Will Pottinger said: "It was a nasty crash but the medical team at the Norfolk Arena were excellent and we thank them for the most professional way in which they dealt with the situation.
"They treated him very carefully because of the nature of the injury and that's why they put him in a spinal board as a precaution because of the neck.
"But thankfully it appears it's nothing long-term for Rich, who will be desperate to get back racing again sooner rather than later.
"He is unlikely to recover in time for our home meeting with the Isle of Wight on Wednesday so we will now look at our options at reserve." | | | | | |
